Our Services Palliative Care

Here at Alpha-Imperial care services, our carers are trained to provide palliative care. Palliative care is not the same as the other care services we provide such as home care, and supported living. It requires a different shift in terms of the delivery of the care service. Palliative care is specialised care for people living with serious and/or terminal illnesses. The focus of palliative care is to provide relief from the pain and stress of the illness.

We work with NHS CHC (Continuing Healthcare), it is this team of specially trained doctors, nurses, and other specialists that will deem when it’s appropriate to have palliative care put in place.

“Palliative care is based on the needs of the patient, not on the patient’s prognosis. It is appropriate at any age and at any stage in a serious illness, and it can be provided along with curative treatment.” (CAPC, 2022).

Our carers are trained and understand that our goal with palliative care is to improve both the patient and family’s quality of life because we understand how important it is to have peace and joy for those last, and precious moments. It is for this reason we don’t like to use the term “End of Life Care” as it doesn’t promote the right emotions.
